Kyzyl Airport is a regional airport of federal significance, located six kilometers southwest of the city of Kyzyl, the capital of the Republic of Tyva. According to the concept of the development of the airport network of Russia until 2020, Kyzyl Airport is among the domestic hub centers that cannot be closed for economic or any other reasons. Due to its location near the border of the Russian Federation, the airport should soon receive international status.
The airfield allows receiving aircraft weighing up to 75 tons, including Tu-154, B737 and A320, as well as helicopters of all types - they carry out both air patrol of the state border and the main communication with the settlements of the republic located in the mountains.
Domestic flights from Kyzyl Airport are serviced by two airlines: Nordstar and IrAero. Since 2013, regular flights have been organized from the airport to Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, seasonal flights are carried out
Take-off from and landing on the RWY are permitted, provided friction coefficient is 0.3 or above.
RWY 23 is preferential for take-off.
Air taxiing of wheeled HEL from RWY onto stands is PROHIBITED.
