General information
The Krasnoyarsk Air Control Center (Krasnoyarsk ACC) is a structural subdivision of VATRUS of the international VATSIM network.
Krasnoyarsk ACC serves the airspace over 3 subjects of the Russian Federation, the total area of which is more than 2.5 million square kilometers. The area of responsibility of the Krasnoyarsk ACC includes the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Tyva and the Republic of Khakassia. The length of the zone is 3,500 kilometers from north to south, and 1,250 kilometers from west to east.
Krasnoyarsk ACC serves 40 international, 60 domestic Russian, 6 straightened air routes with a total length of more than 60 thousand kilometers. In addition, the branch's area of responsibility includes more than 290 local air lines with a total length of more than 60 thousand kilometers.
The airspace of the Krasnoyarsk ACC borders with the airspace of the Department of Internal Affairs of Mongolia. When performing flights in the airspace of Mongolia, flight levels in meters are used. See below for the specifics of performing flights to Mongolia.
Since 2021, changes have taken place in the Krasnoyarsk ACC at two airports in Krasnoyarsk - Yemelyanovo and Cheremshanka. In the area of these aerodromes, flights are performed at a pressure of QNH, and heights are given in feet.
Krasnoyarsk International Airport serves 68 destinations, 46 of them domestic and 22 international to 11 countries of the world. Flights are operated by 26 Russian and foreign airlines
The main airport of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Center - Yemelyanovo - has a convenient location relative to other Siberian ports. It is located in the middle of the Trans-Siberian route from Omsk to Chita, which allows for short flights both in the western and eastern directions from Krasnoyarsk. In a couple of hours you can visit three main ports of three different ACC at once - Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk.
The southern part of the Krasnoyarsk sector borders the Ulaanbaatar FIR. 3 established corridors are used to enter and exit the airspace of Mongolia. Border crossings are carried out strictly within these corridors. Due to differences in the rules of separation in Russia and Mongolia, a special procedure has been established for changing the flight level from a foot (e.g. FL350) to a meter (e.g. 10700 meters), depending on the point of crossing the border of the Russian Federation and Mongolia:
When performing flights in the airspace of Mongolia, echelons in meters are used. Pilots should use the flight level distribution diagram of the Mongolian RVSM system (see picture below) to determine the appropriate flight level in feet. The height must be maintained in FEET. Due to the peculiarities of rounding by on-board systems, altitude readings in meters on altimeters will not necessarily correspond to the permitted level in meters, but the difference in all cases will not exceed 30 meters.
