Description

Irkutsk Airport — is an international airport in the Eastern Siberia, located 7 kilometers southwest from the center of Irkutsk city (practically, within the city limits), at a distance of 60 kilometers (37 miles) from Lake Baikal. Aerodrome is joint based with Air Force and Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, capable of serving all types of aircraft.

Irkutsk Airport is the base for regional airlines "Angara" and "Iraero", as well as one of the hubs of S7 Airlines. The airport is consistently among the top twenty million airports in the country - the passenger traffic of Irkutsk Airport exceeds 2 million people.

Currently, Irkutsk Airport is connected by air with 50 cities of the Russian Federation and 5 countries of the world — Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Thailand. The international route network currently includes 8 destinations.

The airport is consistently among the top twenty million-plus airports in the country. Passenger traffic at Irkutsk Airport exceeds 2 million people.

Irkutsk Airport has two terminals — domestic and international air lines.

The capacity of the domestic terminal is 800 passengers per hour.

The capacity of the international air lines terminal is 400 passengers per hour. Currently, a project for the reconstruction of the international terminal is being developed. The total area of the cargo complex of Irkutsk International Airport is 2.2 hectares, the company can handle up to 150 tons of air cargo per day.

Features

In the absence of an accident covering Irkutsk airport and when operating UNR1207 or UNR1206, departure /arrival via BD, OSKEN, ULTUK are not carried out.

A feature of Irkutsk airport is the pressure QFE, the height below the level of the transition is calculated in meters.

  • RWY 30: ILS Y (RNAV), ILS (CAT I), RNP, GLS, NDB Z, NSB Y, NDB X

At Irkutsk airport, the procedure for de-icing aircraft is carried out in the areas for de-icing treatment, namely: on RD 7 (F) opposite stands  67-69, on stand 62, between taxiway 7A (H) and taxiway 9 (K).

During VFR flights, standard departure procedures are used for VFR traffic, for runway 12: II1A, KUDAI1A, PLISK1A, PLISK2A, runway 30: II1B, KUDAI1B, PLISK1B, PLISK2B.

During VFR flights, standard arrival procedures are used for VFR traffic, namely for runway 12: II1C, KUDAI1C, PLISK1C, PLISK2C, runway 30: II1D, KUDAI1D, PLISK1D, PLISK2D.
