VATSIM Moscow Air Traffic Control Center opens the next season of events! Traditionally, the first autumn real ops is hosted in the oldest Moscow airport - Vnukovo.

Vnukovo Airport was opened on July 2, 1941. During its 82-years history, Vnukovo has been a military airfield, airfield for top officials, and in the middle of the XX century it became the main Moscow airport, ceding this role only in the late 1980s. Today Vnukovo is a modern passenger airport with a capacity of about 25 million passengers per year, which is a hub for Utair airlines, Rossiya and the only low-cost airline in the country, Pobeda, as well as a base for a "Russia" special flight squadron, which carries out transportation in the interests of the Russian Government.

This year we are holding the seventh Vnukovo Real-Ops, without changing the tradition and holding it every autumn.

And it is also important that for the second year we conduct all real-ops in the a "one-room control" format. A team of Moscow controllers, including real ATCs, will gather in one of the esports clubs in Moscow and will provide air traffic control for as long as 5 hours!
