Beloyarskiy Airport

USHQ / EYK

Description

The history of the airport "Beloyarsky" was founded in June 1969. In the middle of the taiga, a section was cleared for an unpaved strip, and in the winter the airport could already receive the An-24 aircraft. During the summer period, flights were not performed, as the ground was very weak. The passengers were taken by helicopters to Berezovo and Igrim.

In 1974, a decision was made to build a runway and an air terminal building. Construction of the new airport began in 1979. The customer was the Beloyarsk directorate of gas pipelines under construction, the contractors were two large construction trusts - Kazymtruboprovodstroy and Kazymgazpromstroy.

Considering that the project for the construction of the runway, the terminal building, the emergency rescue station and the rest of the airport infrastructure was developed virtually from scratch, then the work, by the standards of a small village, was enormous. In 1983, the first stage of the runway was introduced - 1500 m, and in 1984 its length was increased to 1800 m and the airport began to regularly receive Yak-40, An-24 aircraft, which made it possible to send passengers directly without transfers. In 1989, a new airport terminal with a capacity of 50 passengers per hour was put into operation.

In 1990, the runway was increased to 2140 m. By that time, the village had already received the status of a city. In May of the same year, the airport received the first Yak-42 aircraft performing a technical flight. And from July 9, 1990, regular flights began on the Beloyarsky-Moscow line.

Beloyarskiy airport operates flights to Moscow, Khanty-Mansiysk, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Surgut, Sovetskiy, Nyagan, Berezovo, Igrim. And in the summer, Anapa and Krasnodar.
