Description

Ugolny Airport (Russian: Аэропорт Угольный) (also Leninka, Ugolnyye Kopi, Ugolnoye) (IATA: DYR, ICAO: UHMA) is a mixed-use military and civil airfield in the Russian Far East located 11 km east of Anadyr, separated from the town by the waters of Anadyrsky Liman. It became the primary hub for civilian flights in the Chukotka region.

The main purpose of building on the airfield - the possibility of refueling the war, replenishing nuclear energy (nuclear initiatives) includes the strategic activities of the USSR in the case of the United States. To store nuclear revenues in permafrost (about 10 km from the airfield), a huge underground storage facility "Portal" with anti-nuclear protection was built in the mid-1950s.

Local traffic regulation
Taxiing of all ACFT types from TWY 6 to stands shall be carried out by marshaller’s instruction under own engines power. Taxiing of ACFT out of the stands shall be carried out under own engines power or by towing from stand to engines start-up position by marshaller’s instruction. Escort vehicle is not provided.
Apron is a polygon with an area of 119135 square metres. Surface is reinforced concrete, PCN 47/R/A/W/T, twenty-three aircraft stands are located on the apron.
General aviation aircraft shall taxi into stands 1-10 under own engines power.

Surveillance radar approach (SRA).
SRA procedures are not applied.
